Q and A with Brandons dad, Mike Smith

Cobra - How did you and your son get involved in racing motocross?

Mike - I raced in the early 90's. Brandons uncle Ronnie raced as a pro and he has an older cousin that has been racing since he was 4-6

Cobra - When did you realize your son was ready for competition at the national level?

Mike - Brandons Very first race was NMA World mini in 05. I think he was 32nd and 37th but we we had a blast. After that he was hooked.

Cobra - What advice would you give a new Cobra family that wants to get the most out of racing?

Mike - Have fun. remember they are liitle kids and get started with the best equipment-COBRA.

Cobra - Why did you decide on the Cobra brand of motorcycle and not another brand?

Mike - After Brandons 06 season finishing in the top ten in at least one class at every natinal he entered and still riding the 4-6 for 07 we figured he has a chance at winning a title so we wanted to give him the best equipment available to help his program.

Cobra - What are your best tips on keeping your Cobra running in top shape?

  • Stay up on your maintenance.
  • Dont be afraid to work on your bikes yourself, you will only learn if you try and memorize Jason from S-W Superminis phone number.

Cobra - What do you like most about racing?

Brandon - Jumps, Corners and Ruts

Cobra - Tell us how you train for motocross?

Brandon - My dad takes me riding almost everyday. I do set-ups and push-ups at night and eat good

Cobra - What do you like most about your Cobra motorcycle?

Brandon - It goes fast

Cobra - What's your favorite race?

Brandon - Holeshot at ponca and the reginal at Hooks TX

Cobra - Who's your all-time favorite racer?

Brandon - Ivan Tedesco, He is from New Mexico too.
